La tradition du Châteauneuf-du-Pape


Both my wife and I are stemming from old families of the Appellation. Since numerous generations, our ancestors produced wine on the soil of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. We consulted the archives of our families and although there were always variations and fashion effects, some constants stand out. We wished to recreate a vintage which does not follow the trend suggested by the New World wines and too bad for the amateurs of beautiful marks from international journalists.

The consequence is an exceptional wine made by an assembly of about ten grape varieties of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In order to make it more typical of the appellation, the grenach dominates.

The only concession made for the modernity is the alternative use of two techniques of extraction to glorify the result of our organic culture and our soils of exception.

We finally aged this wine in tanks so as to keep the very typical taste, without external influence due to ageing in barrels.

It gives a red wine with tiled reflections and an attractive nose of morello cherry and of wild strawberry, slightly peppered, a flexible, round and pleasant mouth followed by one liquoriced finale.

It has to be drunk, wether young with summer barbecues, mediterraean dishes, wether until 10 years with mushroom dishes or provençal stew.
